VINTAGE CEREALS NO LONGER AROUND TODAY

If you’re a cereal junkie like I am, this list will make you miss some of the timeless classics we have seen come and go over the years.  From Urkel-o’s to C-3PO’S, it’s amazing to see how stars from the movie screen to the wrestling wring have influenced advertising over the years.

Also very interesting is the use of “FREE Prizes” as a marketing technique for children. This form of marketing was actually first used by Cracker Jack in the early 1900’s and they are in fact considered to be the nations first junk food brand. As popular a form of advertising as it proved to be, it’s evident by looking at the newer cereals that it seemed to lose traction over time.
